Chicago 2021

It’s currently the Monday before the weekend Chicago trip that Jennifer and I plan to take for our 13th year wedding anniversary. We’re both really excited about this one! None of us have ever been to Chicago before. I’m so excited that I started this blog a week early just to bring it up. And just to be clear, there is WiFi in Chicago 😁. More to come…

And unfortunately, for now, our trip will be postponed. 😕

Another update! We rescheduled to leave this Friday on 5/14/21! The plan resumes!

  • Noise canceling headphones are a must for any plane ride.
Before any trip I need to ensure that I have all my devices charged and ready to go lol. (Notice all the cabling mess).
  • Apple recently released their “Air Tags” trackers that were perfect to test on our luggage.
  • Here I was geeking out by seeing how far we were moving away from our luggage lol.
  • We’re in Chicago!
  • The nice thing about large metropolitan cities is that they have convenient public transit. We used the train to shoot us straight from the airport to downtown. No traffic!! But there were like 15 stops in between. A good 20 minute ride.

  • At baggage claim I found my luggage. This was a AAA+ experience. Highly recommend Air Tags if you’re an iphone user.

We arrived on Friday around 3-4pm local time. We were so excited and eager to go exploring the surrounding areas to our hotel. Thankfully our hotel was close to Millennial Park which had these beautiful sceneries.

  • I was thrilled to see that there was a Starbucks a couple blocks away. (I mean that’s not surprise…. They’re everywhere)

  • Old Lighthouse that isn’t in use anymore. Something struck me about it…
One of the major attractions was the Lake and River Architect boat tour we took and it was awesome!
  • This place was recommended and close to where we were so it was convenient to stop. We must’ve gotten lucky because a huge line started to form after we had gotten a table.
Gino’s East Pizzeria. Had to get some authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza!!

  • One of the ways we got around town althoguh we didn’t use the bikes as much as I would’ve liked.

  • I booked Jenn and I a dinner with live Jazz/Blues music. We were fortunate to enjoy live music given the recent Pandemic shutdowns…
  • Aaaand going back home. I got TWO windows on the way back.
